Antonio Delgado\u2019s new agriculture advisory group<\/a>\u00a0made up of 40 growers and agricultural leaders in the region. The group serves as a sounding board on agriculture in upstate New York.<\/li><li>ProFarmer Andrew Casner\u2019s Black Futsu squash appeared in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/hudsonvalleyseed.com\/catalogsearch\/result\/?cat=0&amp;q=black+futsu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hudson Valley Seed Company\u2019s 2019 catalog<\/a>. Andrew grew Black Futsu squash \u2013 a Japanese winter squash \u2013 as part of his 2018 project and donated much of it to UlsterCorps<\/li><li>Adriana Pericchi discussed her responsibilities as language justice coordinator and the role language justice plays in organizations\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/radiokingston.org\/en\/broadcast\/la-voz\/episodes\/diana-lopez-adriana-pericchi-daniel-torres-and-ivan-lajara\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">in an interview with Radio Kingston<\/a>. \u201cWe\u2019re aiming to reach a place in which interpretation is systematic, it\u2019s part of everything,\u201d said Adriana in the interview.<\/li><li>In April, the Applied Farmscape Ecology Team, including Farmscape Ecology Coordinator Anne Bloomfield and Conrad and Claudia Vispo of Hawthorne Valley Farm will be presenting at the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eaglehill.us\/NENHC_2019\/NENHC2019.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Northeast Natural History Conference<\/a>\u00a0in Springfield, Mass. Their presentation will explore the role on-farm habitats play in supporting agriculture and biodiversity conservation in the Hudson Valley. NENHC is the largest forum for applied field biology and natural history researchers in the northeast and adjacent Canada.<\/li><li>Broccoli, sweet corn and carrots topped the list of our donated produce in 2018. Of the 146,300 pounds of vegetables and fruits we harvested in 2018, 28,069 pounds of broccoli, sweet corn at 27,700 pounds of sweet corn and 15,800 pounds of carrots, and 7,000 pounds of parsnips came in fourth. We donate regularly to UlsterCorps, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Orange County\u2019s gleaning program, and People\u2019s Place food pantry.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/hvfarmhub.org\/es\/new-documentary-tells-story-small-grains-research-farm-hub\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">`Growing With the Grain\u2019<\/a>\u00a0continues to make its rounds as part of the new \u201cHope on the Hudson 2 series (Source to Sea, Growing With the Grain &amp; Undamming the Hudson River).\u201d The series was produced by Jon Bowermaster, environmental filmmaker, writer, activist. Screenings will be held at April 25 at the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/burnsfilmcenter.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Jacob Burns<\/a>Theater in Pleasantville and May 9 at the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/townecrier.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Towne Crier<\/a>\u00a0in Beacon. In February, the film showed at the Hudson Valley Grains School with Associate Director of Programming Sarah Brannen introducing the film to the audience.
