In April the Farm Hub collaborated with the Kingston YMCA Farm Project on an art exhibition on Language Justice<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On April 3  \u201cWe Are Puentes (Somos Bridges),\u201d an exhibition on Language Justice by the Youth Crew and Empowerment Coordinators of the Kingston YMCA Farm Project, launched at the Arts Society of Kingston in the City of Kingston.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibit is an extension of a six-part Language Justice youth workshop led by Adriana Perrichi and Li Sierra of the Farm Hub’s Language Justice program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this series, some 14 youth who participated in the workshop created projects based on what language justice means to them. Through art, video, and multimedia they examined how language impacts daily life, how the power of language can liberate or oppress, and how each individual plays a role in creating change toward language justice in the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The art pieces showcased in \u201cWe Are Puentes\u201d reflect what the youth crew learned and how they express and share their knowledge to help raise greater awareness. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition will run from April 3 until April 24 at the ASK Gallery at 97 Broadway, Kingston.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
