The Hudson Valley Farm Hub had a great time connecting with fellow farmers at the RVGA Rondout Valley Growers Association annual dinner on Feb. 28 night.
Highlights from the night:
- Over 90 farmers and stakeholders attended, the biggest RVGA dinner to date
- NYS Senator Jen Metzger discussed her new role as head of the Ag Committee; Chris Kelder, an RVGA member and member of state farm bureau, talked about the dynamics of Albany; Joseph Ganley, a NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets representative spoke about the potential of hemp as a crop; and Brian Farmer, co-founder of the Cannabis Conservancy, talked about the potential for CBD hemp seed production and promise of farm tourism in the pipeline.
- RVGA President Nick Cipollone shared RVGA plans for the upcoming year.
The Farm Hub really enjoyed the social hour hosted by Cornell Cooperative Extension, and kudos to RVGA for its growing membership and initiatives.
