Join us for the 2026 Farmscape Ecology Field Day on Tuesday, August 4th, an event for farmers, conservation professionals, land managers, and those who are interested in on-farm ecology. Learn about the research happening at the Hudson Valley Farm Hub and explore how these findings can be applied to your own work.

About the Event

Farms in the Hudson Valley can have an immense, positive ecological impact across the region by providing critical habitat and implementing farming practices that support biodiversity.

Since 2019, the Applied Farmscape Ecology Research Collaborative (AFERC), a partnership between the Applied Farmscape Ecology Program at the Farm Hub and the Hawthorne Valley Farmscape Ecology Program, has been dedicated to advancing research in agroecology. Through seven years of dedicated research investigating water quality, meadows, insects, soil microbes, birds, bats and turtles we’ve gained a deeper understanding of the complex interactions between crop production and biodiversity on farms.

On Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 9:00 am to 1:00pm you’ll have the opportunity to explore our research in the field. Our partners will host interactive stations, share insights into their projects, and discuss the potential applications for farms and land in the region. Come with your questions and engage directly with the experts!
