The Farm Hub has joined a new coalition of regional organizations launching the Hudson Valley Farmer Training Collaborative. The goal of the Collaborative is to more effectively understand and evaluate the outcomes of current efforts to train new and beginning farmers. In doing so, the Collaborative seeks to have a collective impact in training young farmers to meet the challenges faced by the agricultural community.
“Working these considerations into our training programs from the get-go is critical,” says Brooke Pickering-Cole, director of the Farm Hub, which along with the partner organizations has advocated for formal collaboration among Hudson Valley farmer training organizations.
Current partners are Glynwood, GrowNYC, Hawthorne Valley Farm, and Stone Barns Center for Food & Agriculture.
