ProFarmer Andrew Casner Donates Over 2,200 Pounds of Black Futsu Squash

Over the past two weeks, ProFarmer Andrew Casner donated over 2,200 pounds of Black Futsu squash that he grew as part of his field project. The squash was processed with volunteers from UlsterCorps and the youth crew from the Kingston YMCA Farm Project. The volunteers cut, baked, bagged, and then froze the squash for donation during the winter months! Even the seeds were saved for the Hudson Valley Seed Company. The Farm Hub is grateful for these community partners in helping with this processing and to Ulster County Community Action Committee, Inc. for allowing use of the kitchen.
