Sound Solutions for Sustainable Science
Sound Solutions for Sustainable Science develops and provides uniquely tailored programs to support learners from all backgrounds and walks of life. We envision a community of well-educated, diverse, and inclusive scientists working together to tackle the major social, cultural, and technological challenges of the 21st century.
Since 2021, Aaron Ellison and Manisha Patel, Founding Principals of Sound Solutions for Sustainable Science, have supported Farm Hub researchers with their data management and statistical analyses. Most of our work has been with the Meadow Establishment and Floral Resources and the Bugs/Crops/Habitat Interactions teams, but we have also advised on the design and analysis of the beetle bank project, reviewed experimental design of the bird perch experiment (within the Birds and Ecosystem Services project), and have provided guidance on the analysis of data from the Wood Turtles and Working Farms project. We are available to work with any Farm Hub researcher on: design of sampling programs and observational or manipulative experiments; data visualization and analyses to test researcher-driven hypotheses; data wrangling and coding in the R programming language; and integration across Farm Hub research programs that can lead to new research directions.
