Greenhouse Production

Leer en Español

Against the backdrop of winter, a pair of greenhouses shimmer against the changing light from dawn to dusk. These translucent cocoons are the mecca of production. On this day we are harvesting a wide variety of greens and salad mix. Production crew members fill bins with bunches of Spinach, Kale and Swiss Chard. There is budding basil, a maze of mini pea shoots, and emerald-colored rows of Salanova, a new kind of lettuce with a registered trademark that is allowed to grow longer than most baby lettuce. These activities  mark the fourth year of year-round. production at the Farm Hub.  Each week throughout the winter our team harvests an average of 200 pounds of produce that is donated to the emergency food system in the region.
